Hate that experience as well! Another rough one is when the streamer just had a bad time even if they're not bad mouthing anyone. I played against ScottJund once and was excited to see he was live only to watch the light go out of him as he got as unlucky as possible on totem cleanse order

The mental exercise taught to access the source by imagining herself as a thorn bush instead of a peaceful blossom, and she comes out with thorns in her hands seemingly as a price for bending the rules

Nynaeve in terms of raw strength does outstrip Egwene, but I think the reason for this is more likely to do with Nynaeve's block than her power. The arches make it so most women can't sense the source, but Nynaeve already can't, so perhaps this part didn't work on her. In the books she modifies 1/2

Only for Robert Jordan do I have to restart the prologue audio books because I feel asleep before the end

To add on, while it is possible to break through a tied-off shield, one of the forsaken who didn't appear in the show is noted as being practically incapable of learning it. So provided the tied of shield was strong enough, which Sakarnen can manage, Sammael might not have been able to break it

Many of my friends who loved Wheel of Time swear by Malazan's. I think you're in for a treat

I guess the answer is time, as with most cuts, but it still feels like a miss. Maybe they didn't want to steal the thunder from the other death they moved to that scene, but I love that section of the finale in the books.

Not sure if you have caught this on your previous reads, but Sammael also has a bit to say about the rods. His dialogue is something like "They bind themselves like criminals" which I have always taken along with Semirhage's history to mean the oath rods were a criminal punishment in the AoL

"I like the hot milfs" luckily you are still spiritually aligned with one of the authors deepest held convictions

Also "That you are reading this means that events have fallen out at the docks as I hoped."... "May the Light illumine and protect you. You will do well."

"My husband rides from World’s End toward Tarwin’s Gap, toward Tarmon Gai’don. Will he ride alone?"

I've really enjoyed your read along thread! This one stuck out to me because its something that they managed to capture really well in the silly 90's tie-in game. The feeling of being hunted through the dark by the wind was gripping in that medium as well

Some folks really prefer her not to be. I've heard them say its because she didn't benefit from chance the way the boys do and got there anyway. No Ta'Veren improvable speech just good old fashioned iron will, manipulation, politics, and a side of blackmail. Cool character either way in my book

The Aiel in the books want to stay and help and you hear a story of Aiel singing to a madman until he slowly killed them all to give others time to flee. The Aes Sedai here are trying to keep the Aiel rom dying and know they won't leave without a task. So they entrust them with Ter'Angreal and Chora

There are two main reasons. The first is that the breaking is worse in cities. More men who can channel -> more destruction. So they tried to send them away. Second part is that in the books it is clear their task is an empty one. Its an excuse for the Aes Sedai to send the Aiel away.

Thinking about it more that whole night in the books would be amazing television. The seriousness and heroism of Mat's scene with the Windfinder would make the ridiculous destiny comedy of Mat's unwitting proposal all the sweeter. The harbor rebellion would make such an intense scene too

Streetwise is nice, but you're not getting great value if they are using flashlights. In the end there is only so much you can do, but some perks can really impact the efficiency of the entire team. If your teammates are failing you that's where I would look to change it up
