There are fewer vegetarian and vegan alternatives available in my region than there were a year or two ago, and I'm eating more meat again, and this makes me sad.

I hope countries, especially Greenland, will finally find the balls to kick out their US bases. When the US threatens to invade, they should no longer be welcome.

There's a part of me that still finds it hard to believe that the entire world, pretty much all of humanity, is finite and mostly within reach.

The forced two-factor authentication everywhere has now made it so I genuinely don't know how I'd get my accounts back if my phone and laptop were stolen, which is just one bag, way more likely than someone cracking my password.

The more I learn about frame rates and aspect ratios the more annoyed I get. Like, what do you mean movies are still shot at 24 fps at 1.85:1 when that's almost identical to the (multiples of) 30 fps 16:9 which is standard for screens? "It's more cinematic" is not a valid answer!

So many smart people say Trump became this cult leader because of his charisma, and I have to think they're just gaslighting themselves. I don't know how he became the cult leader, but I do know that man has no charisma.

My mom had an arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) and the doctors literally turned her heart off and back on again to fix it. It's crazy that that just works.

Looking at the list of deadliest disasters, if we hadn't done what we did, COVID would've been the deadliest disaster in history, except maybe the Black Death. AIDS and the Spanish Flu are deadlier but not by much and only because we ignored them. So 1) COVID was bad and 2) don't ignore pandemics!

People seem to forget, Trump declared victory in the 2024 election almost immediately. He didn't care about the results of the election, he was going to be president. His coup failed in 2020, they had four years to prepare, and were gonna try again in 2024. And then he just won for real.

Some leftists need to learn to take a W. Yes, every victory has caveats, and pointing those out is fine, but celebrate them anyway, they don't come often. You can't build a movement on sulking and misery, and it's no way to live a life. Find joy wherever you can, try not to take it away from others.

Just thinking about how if Trump had won in 2020 he probably would've fumbled his way through his second term with just as little preparation as the first and we'd probably be done with him with relatively little harm done. This is not actionable, it's just depressing.

I predict Hermitcraft season 10 will end mid December and season 11 will start early to mid February, and I hope they'll start a Vintage Story server in the off season.

Seeing Zocdoc sponsors recently and it smells like a scam. There's a lot of power in getting to decide which doctors to show users, I hope this private for-profit company somehow making bank off of a 'free' app without ads wields it well.

Would I want someone to have made a deal with Hitler to make the lives of people in concentration camps less horrible while still keeping them in concentration camps? I don't know. I guess I can celebrate more aid going to Gaza while disliking how we got there.

I truly think the #stopkillinggames initiative could work. Companies shutting down game servers without allowing customers to self-host, killing the game they paid for, is exactly the kind of anti-consumer behavior the EU hates. If you're an EU citizen, please consider signing:
