If I see "civil war", I automatically assume ours. This works with any country, the dates can be transpositioned subconsciously, it's an unintentional bias caused by a rapidly shrinking world. When we post we are telling the world something, not a neighbor.

When there is an international communication platform it's easy to confuse civil wars and bloody Sundays unless we are specific.

I think the saddest part of the cinematic depictions of slavery is that slavery has never been depicted as horrible as it was. The journals of slave owners tend to read like horror.
