This only true if you completely rule out something like virtue epistemology, where the success of one’s cognitive life is deeply informed by the success of one’s moral life.

If we understand moral value as being concerned with well being tout court and epistemic value as being concerned with cognitive well being, it looks like epistemic value is just a localized form of moral value.
