The first pages of 2025 and 2026 aren't too different, in all honesty.

But that's probably because after YEARS of experimentation and practice, I have finally figured out the style for this comic, and that's a delightful realization.

A word association challenge by @vistrology.bsky.social? Sign me up!

A lot of my (important) characters have been shown and revealed now, 250+ pages in, and while I had to play around a little, I associate these words with each of the following characters:
A template for "One Word, One Character" where each black-and-white word is shown to be associated with a different character. The word "Fate" is associated with the gray wolf Vina, who uses her unique green and pink eyes to see the past and the future in varying ways. The word "Freedom" is associated with the sandy-furred mother Kalip. The word "Defiance" is associated with the older black-and-white brute named Seldrad, whom has two scars near his right eye. The word "Rest" is associated with Nylin, the blue wolf with the silver tuft. The word "Fight" is associated with Diala, the fiery orange world with red stripes and fur tufts. The word "Run" is associated with the light blue and silver wolf Cival. The word "Heart" is associated with the happy yellow wolf Nysha. The word "Soul" is associated with a brown wolf that has not yet been seen in the comic, named Talia. The word "Mind" is associated with the pink wolf Alina. The word "Break" is associated with the red-eyed violet wolf Idredo. The word "Fix" is associated with the saber-toothed brown wolf named Toruk. The word "Create" is associated with the gray senior wolf Bakudo.

Won't be able to do a lot of #ComicFight attacks this year, but I will certainly try to get in a few!

I'll start with this attack on @kohakudragon.bsky.social! Their wishlist included characters interacting, and Lycaon and Seldrad would probably be quite friendly with one another if they ever met.

Here are the last of the references I've completed, one which is the first of the new set of references, another which is brand new, and a third which is the newest version of an old one!

The text in the bottom right describes her personality: "The only mother to young pups, Kalip's kind and motherly nature extends to all others in her pack. She is not one for confrontation, and while she is known for being open-minded and gentle, she can also be cautious and overprotective of those she holds dear. Mikka has light brown fur with a few random white splotches on her body and a gray tail and eyes.
