Going all the way back to the N64, 🪕Banjo-Kazooie has a hilarious cast of characters and amazing dark humor. Platforming and puzzles galore! Somehow still kid friendly with raunchier jokes subtle enough they'll never know. If you didn't know, Kazooie is a lady~💃

Farming sims are popular these days. No surprise when talking about past farming sims that today's game is a Harvest Moon title. Magical Melody on the GameCube (and Wii) allowed the choice of picking your gender long before it was trendy, had property purchases, and was SO cute!

Too many RPGs start with the old amnesia trope, but Tales of Phantasia starts out with ✨ trauma✨ for the main protagonist and his best friend. 1st available in English in 2006 on the Game Boy Advance, it has a strong story and characters. Chester is my favorite ❤️

If you like The Sims, especially for the drama, you'll like The Urbz on GameCube. It was a cancelled offshoot series and didn't meet EA's sales expectations, but still sold over 2 million copies. It is more story driven rather than open world sim, and full of fun characters.
