Overall, it's pretty hard to argue that any surprise function S(p) shouldn't satisfy the following properties:
- S(1) = 0
- S(0) = ∞
- S decreases monotonically
- S is continuous
- S(pq) = S(p) + S(q)
- S(1) = 0
- S(0) = ∞
- S decreases monotonically
- S is continuous
- S(pq) = S(p) + S(q)
