I worked with cattleman and the BLM in Idaho. I raise goats and practice pasture rotation. Elk are primarily grazers, deer are on the other hand are browsers. Cattle will browse as much as any elk in open range. If you penned an elk, it would graze as much as a cow.

This is extremely misleading. The BLM carefully manages, and cattlemen adhere to, grazing plans to prevent overgrazing. Furthermore, grazing our public lands simultaneously mitigates wildfire risk.

Cattle eat the same way elk do.
