You’re right! I didn’t realise he’s also got Napoleon syndrome. Here’s Jacques-Louis David’s painting of Bonaparte crossing the Alps. If it was truly to scale, Napoleon would have been about 7’ 2” 😊

This was my favourite Citroen DS from the 70th anniversary rally yesterday. And yes, those are confused tourists milling aorund outside the Louvre yesterday morning. We were all kicked out, after they discovered the theft, just in time to see the rally. Interspersed with police motorbikes. #Louvre

And to add to the drama, the 70th Anniversary rally for Citroen DS was rumbling past outside, intermingled with police.

Didn't get the forecasted storms; they passed by Paris up to Belgium. We did however get a marvellous sunset. This is the view of La Defense from our guest room.

There were also at least 7 or 8 different species of butterfly all along the path, as well as lots of brilliant blue/black dragonflies. And a few teeny iridescent bugs on one particular plant.

My dad was at school with the son of the owner. Black Cat cigarettes apparently lingered on until the early 90s, and British Americans Tobacco still own the brand.

I took this photo of two little Syrian brothers at the Citadel, Aleppo, in May 2010. I think of them often. I do hope they are still alive and safe, and can now be part of building a free Syria.
