Well, the TUI have capitulated while the ASTI sit on the fence. While the document is presented loosely as reform supports, in reality it’s a contract for the unions. The 3% bargaining clause should never be linked to reform supports.

In my experience excellent school leaders were also excellent classroom teachers. School leaders need a broad view on education and not just look inward to their own school. Also, good leaders display a keen interest in learning. #edchatIE

I think teaching and learning needs to be much higher on the agenda.

It’s hard to know the national picture but we don’t get many opportunities to discuss pedagogy.

I’d like more.

I think it’s important that school leaders do take an active interest in T&L. Teachers, especially younger teachers, need to see a strong connection between leadership and what happens in the classroom. #edchatIE
