I don't think it's so much about being 'popular', but I do find it amusing that the knuckle-draggers, such as those that made my life at school miserable, do generally end up in the shit jobs while the nerds generally do better.

As to why bother at all, I guess at first they thought it could be an issue, but now they realise it's not which is why they are starting to offer WiFi, for a fee, of course.

Just so you don't think I'm an entitled arsehole, I also put my phone in airplane mode as I am rule follower. Though I did once get my bag out of the overhead at the end of a flight to the US and realise I'd left my work phone on for the entire flight, but that wasn't deliberate.

If there was even the smallest chance that not putting your phone in airplane mode would crash the plane, they wouldn't just leave it as a request that people like the OP can ignore.

I read the odd pages and my wife the even. At the end of the chapter we fill the other in on what we missed. You save a lot of time as you only need to read half the book.

I tried to sign up, saying I was a reviewer of books, but then it wanted to know the URL of where I publish my reviews and I had to give up.
It's fair enough, they're only going to give early access to those that will generate some publicity.

True. But it doesn't feel like the Government are even attempting to sell their achievements. Instead, they seem more focused on responding to the Farage agenda, and not in a confrontational way.

Although it was me that said the issue was communications, I do wonder if Starmer and Reeves could ever communicate effectively.
They might need a new leader, not necessarily for a change of policy, but to get someone in charge who can get the message out properly.
