Yes. The majority of scans are done lying down on your back (supine) vs on your stomach (prone). There are some open MRI units for extremities, but if you want a good quality scan; you’ll have it done on 1.5T or 3T machine.

Weird machine. I’ve worked in 5 different hospitals and the only prone exams I see are forearms and breasts. It’s uncomfortable for the patient to be prone.

No, actually. Very few MRI studies are conducted prone. That said, most outpatients absolutely know why they are being scanned. Most studies get a coil placed over the part; the brain, for instance. Trump is absolutely lying.
