Humans Are Greater Than Money

Succinct bites of wisdom, insights, advice, and motivation.

We're an informal group of volunteers who believe in the power of human effort over wealth. Since 1990, we've been making a real-world difference.
This post was beautiful.

All the harms that arise from LLMs are actually the result of human negligence.

No disrespect to Roberta & Jerry but I felt claustrophobic watching this. Video’s like this make it clear that I could never live in NYC as I feel trapped when I don’t see a body of water & nature right outside my window & I would also need a higher ceiling. Glad they have such love for their home.

The person in question has been one of the luckiest people to have ever lived, long before the missed shot. That everything that came afterwords went so spectacularly in his favor was just further evidence of luck. I believe luck goes with the odds but sometimes it just doesn’t.

To be clear, I don’t believe that I know any of photographers who were present personally. What I wrote was about what I have observed as a pattern with people who cover conflicts. In my experience regardless of what they felt about the person, they wouldn’t miss the chance to get the lifetime shot.

As a Creative Director with over 3 decades hiring photographers including for several news outlets I know that the one’s who had covered conflicts would almost universally take, what I believe to be, stupid risks to get photos. At that moment they were ONLY thinking “Get the best shot possible”.

You do realize that if you succeed too loudly at pointing out the hypocrisy of Bluesky, by for example, pointing out how they censor accounts critical of Turkey’s government they will censor your account as well by falsely labeling it as “spam” right? Just see what they did to this account.
July 19, 2025 at 1:32 PM
Congratulations and best of luck on it’s sales. Regardless of how many copies you sell, the true reward for your effort is the fact that something that once only existed in your imagination now exists for everyone else as well.

Thanks for pointing this out by the way. We are a volunteer humanitarian group and everyone can see every post and interaction we have ever made on this account. The only thing that makes sense is that it is some glitch or that it is exactly what what others have written is taking place.
July 14, 2025 at 9:35 PM
It makes no sense to us as well and we have receive no response to multiple appeals we have made.
July 14, 2025 at 9:23 PM
Bluesky does the shadowland at the same time it places a false label like “spam”. This happened to this account for bringing attention to how Bluesky has censored accounts critical of the Turkish government at the request of the of the group in power. Our posts no-longer reach as many people.

Unfortunately Bluesky shadowlands accounts and places false labels of spam on them as well. This happened to this account for bringing attention to how Bluesky has censored accounts critical of the Turkish government at the request of the of the group in power. Really hypocritical of them to do.

Respectfully, as a “birther” we almost universally find the term insulting. Mom or Dad is always how you should address us. Just because we define our paths to happiness differently doesn’t mean we are at war. Thanks.

“AI” is factually just pattern recognition and predictive modeling.
July 9, 2025 at 3:14 PM
“AI Art” is as oxymoronic a concept as “AI Humanity” or “AI Emotions”. Yes we typically spot it immediately but that misses the point. An algorithm ONLY mixes and re-serves what it ingested as it lacks actual comprehension of what it spits out. bsky.app/profile/huma...
The quickest and surest way that brands demonstrate their disregard for quality is by using algorithmically derived imagery.

Just became aware of you and your presentation. Is there somewhere it can be viewed, preferably the uncensored version? bsky.app/profile/huma...

“Gut feelings” typically just mean that your subconscious mind has noticed something that your conscious mind hasn’t. At times it can also be an unconscious bias, positive or negative, towards something. Brains create unconscious biases for immediate reaction & survive but it isn’t always correct.

I always inform everyone to independently verify everything, even when I know 100% that something is true, because no one should take anything posted at face value. A goggle search should show that several outlets reported that several Bluesky accounts had blocked by request from Turkey.
July 5, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Regrettably, it is indeed true. (Please verify for yourself via independent sources and see I was reporting the truth.) This is why this account went so hard on Graber’s account. She never replied but the reach of posts made by this account was greatly reduced ever since those posts.

The majority of the protesters were just a decade or so older than you. Meany of the people who survived the massacre are still alive today.
July 5, 2025 at 2:03 PM
If you see the full video you will see some people came and pulled him away. Before that he even climbed on top of the first tank. The CCP even showed this on TV after the massacre and claimed it “proved” they didn’t harm any of the protestors before deciding to make the video illegal.
