Recently found this YouTube creator that really encapsulates so much of what I believe is problem with Star Wars right now. The creative and mouses inability grow and to move forward and beyond. Hopefully there’s a way to fix it. We’ll see.
Star Wars is NOT for Kids Anymore

That’s what 90% of Disney SW is like. People flap their heada, clap their hands like babies entertained by a loud, shiny object, manipulated by a familiar face. The knee-jerk “but it’s for kids” is a bullshit copout, it lets Disney and George off the hook, insults the audience and films legacy.

They flub the opportunity to create a memorable and worthy character interaction and development. Think about it, they want us to feel like “this is Star Wars” but they never deliver on it. And with a moment that is seemingly lined up with two of the most loved characters in cinema, they miss it…

Totally… just as god intended. I mean let’s be honest, as far as Disney is concerned those space dice are a bigger deal character than that walking carpet.

Yeah, right up to the part where Leia and Chewie just passed like ships in the night after Han was just murdered by the kid they all raised together. It as if they didn’t even know each other for almost 40 years. That no one on set was screaming how wrong that was is beyond me.

Agreed, I like it.

I’ve always found it frustrating that unlike other industries where those at the top of their game with real passion for their work actually get paid well, valued, and taken care of - certain industries look at the same type of worker and think they ought to get fucked, and be grateful to even work.

Yeah true. The issue for me is that battery is less definable in terms of quantity. Perhaps the fact that it was coined in 2003 plays a big part, as “rechargeable“ devices really weren’t as prevalent as they are today. We certainly didn’t have the power vampires on our person like we do now.

To me, it was always the idea of you have a certain amount of finite spoons to eat things with once they're gone you can't eat anymore. So in that respect it works. I think iconic depression is a good example of something that might not be considered a chronic disability but kinda is. It is for me.

I get what you mean, but I think this also has to do with the origin of the concept being from the chronic disability community. Now it’s been co-opted by everybody so it doesn’t necessarily track. I think it makes since for them because it's about have energy for life relative to able bodied folks.

Sorry for the delete and repost. This platform needs an edit feature so bad. I always have bloopers in my posts.

Did you see the thing where this idiot messaged with a reporter from a legal news website all about her other case against Tish James, all on the record? They're trying to get her on mortgage fraud, based on her Niece renting a house James had purchased. That's how desperate to get even they are.

Exactly. It's like when you hear about Wal-Mart raising prices but not wages when they should understand that their employees are the customers. Or how all these douchnozzles keep talking about AI taking all jobs with no mention of UBI or any sort of plan to deal with the core impact to captitalism.

I love the handhold... Cuz if you know, you know.

I love the consistent bullshit mislabeling him as communist, socialism and communism are not the same thing. It's wild that these MFrs love to evoke the evil spector of the old og Soviet Union while allowing leadership of the party to be co-opted lock stock and barrel by of the remnants of the KGB.

I feel that was one of the first times that I realized that you could elevate a story intended for a younger audience to another level. It was like proto Game of Thrones for me as a kid. To get that you can love a character and appreciate that their death make a better story & characters.
