A tweet from then Alberta education minister Adriana Lagrange: "This chart outlines how funding continues to outpace inflation and enrollment growth. For the opposition to suggest otherwise is simply untrue". The graph below then shows a 26% inflation increase AND a 24% enrollment increase, improperly charted on top of each other to look lower than a 48% operational funding increase.

A story near the bottom of the front page reads: Goebbels Ends Careers of Five 'Aryan' Actors Who Made Witticisms About the Nazi Regime BERLIN, Feb. 3.—Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels today ended the professional careers of five "Aryan" actors and cabaret announcers by expelling them from the Reich's Chamber of Culture on the grounds that “in their public appearances they displayed a lack of any positive attitude toward National Socialism and therewith caused grave annoyance in public and especially to party comrades.” The five include perhaps the best known German stage comedians who survived previous Chamber of Culture purges and still dared to indulge in political witticisms—namely, Werner Finck, Peter Sachse and “The Three Rulands,” represented by Helmuth Buth, Wilhelm Meissner and Manfred Dlugi. Their expulsion means that they are henceforth forbidden to appear before the public in Germany. Besides motivating this action in an official communiqué, Dr. Goebbels also publishes a long article in the Voelkischer Beobachter in which he denounces them as “brazen, impertinent, arrogant and tactless" and generally imitators and successors to Jews. Simultaneously he denounces the "society rabble that followed them with thundering applause—parasitic scum, inhabiting our luxury streets, that seems to have only the task of proving with how little brains people can get along and even acquire money and prominence." As regards the details of the "crimes" of which the five are accused, Dr. Goebbels mentions that they made political witticisms about the colonial problem, the Four-Year Plan and Chancellor Hitler's monumental building program and one of them even raised the question of whether there was any humor left in Germany today. Why does the CBE continue to forbid air filters in schools when THIS is our kids' foreseeable future?

This year on a bad day, I measured the indoor air at our CBE school - it was in the "unhealthy" category.

CBE admins are cowards.

Shouldn't the unions care?

Calgary had a 10+ day this week. I checked the air at preschool where I donated a box fan, it was good. I checked the air at the elementary school where filters are forbidden: it was 75PM2.5.

Don't we love STEM for kids? Shouldn't we use facts and data to overcome challenges? 🤔

In the spring of 1850, Semmelweis took the stage at the prestigious Vienna Medical Society and extolled the virtues of hand washing to a crowd of doctors. His theory flew in the face of accepted medical wisdom of the time and was rejected by the medical community, who faulted both his science and his logic. Historians believe they also rejected his theory because it blamed them for their patients' deaths. Despite reversing the mortality rates in the maternity wards, the Vienna Hospital abandoned mandatory handwashing.

Current measles outbreaks made me curious: How protected are our kids in Alberta?

I didn't think I'd see coverage numbers this low (24.43% in one area)!

106/172 local areas in AB have <75% coverage in 7 year olds. 🥺

23/172 don't even have 60% coverage. 😳
