the vibe I got from the trailer and the limited stuff that they've said about the game is that "suffering must be endured to achieve our divine end" line is part of a critique on religious dogma, not an endorsement, but even if so it's a wild choice to make it a slogan for your workforce!

not even a quality comparison! My point is that Empire also ends at an uncertain point with the rebels hurt but still hopeful, and with no obvious path for where the next movie goes. That’s how it felt to me.

idk man, all of the main cast are set up nicely for a concluding film, not that differently to Empire really. All they needed to do was not put filmmakers who actively wanted to undo TLJ in charge of ep 9. (Also sets up Leia to be a main focus of ep 9, which is an issue that's no one's fault ofc)

it doesn't connect with the rest of the trilogy because Lucasfilm panicked, brought back Abrams and made a very embarrassing retraction of The Last Jedi. There's absolutely nothing in Last Jedi that contradicts Force Awakens, it only contradicts what people assumed would happen next

When I was a kid I was always so upset that friends went to those while my parents just took us to actual places, but now I’m an adult the idea of spending the 2 weeks of proper break I get a year on a theme park is insane and I have nothing but respect for them never caving to their children

I reckon they just kind of double down on systems driven stuff and it'll stand out to people in a triple A narrative game landscape that has mostly leaned towards different more streamlined design. Which is cool but will also make me mad that not enough people played like, Dishonored 2 or Prey

haha fair enough, I prefer to buy physical and play on playstation so the switch and PC timed exclusive digital only release is a little annoying, but having avoided early access for a year and a half I can't wait any longer

juggernaut in the zeitgeist sense at the very least no? It’s been a meme for years and crashed the steam store for like 90 minutes on release! Must feel brutal to be hit with something like that so last minute (but yeah I think ultimately he could’ve handled this response with a bit more care)
