I'm back from Europe, and guess what greeted me on my desk!

Really, I'm so thankful to all of you—friends, family, and colleagues—for your encouragement. And I'm really looking forward to all that this book might inspire, challenge, and reshape!

Print copies of my book are weeks away, but its ebook versions are now out on Kindle and Nook for $23.99! To celebrate, then, today's teaser comes from the introduction to ch. 2 in the Kindle preview (a.co/d/dQkhE24).

My book on the Gospel of John is coming out this month! Over the next few weeks, I'll be leaving teasers from its pages. Here's a key quote that sets up a major argument of chs. 1 and 2—namely, that the author of John was conversant with, and developed, the thought of Paul. (a.co/d/6rj76Qj).

I'm just shocked UNC Religious Studies hasn't given all of us an official Bart Ehrman mug.

So happy to be back at #Stanford (this time to share my work on the Epistles of John). This place is always so stunning, always so inviting and warm. It’s such a special place to me.

Folks, this book is going to be gorgeous.

(For years, I wrote the manuscript with this contemporary Greek-Catholic icon by Ivanka Demchuk sitting on the front page... It's stunning to see it now adorn the cover proofs. Coming out this summer!)

So... UNC will now have the (just-retired, Republican) NC Senate Majority Leader as its General Counsel, advising UNC on responses to campus protests, applying new federal policies, etc.

This is where we are.

It's proofs time for this one!

(And thank you to those friends who've volunteered to help me catch errors in these proofs. I'm so appreciative.)

Sadly, this has to be a virtual year for me at the Catholic Biblical Association annual meeting. But wherever you are—in DC or online—tune in August 4 for this presentation: a summary of grant-funded research.

I've had fun as a regular expert on multiple History Channel shows, covering topics anywhere across ancient history and religion. Tonight, though, will be a doubleheader! Look for me on History's Greatest Mysteries and the series premiere of Holy Marvels (9 and 10pm EDT).

Please consider "Connecting John" for your next SBL paper!

It's three panels this year: Paul and John, Interrelations of the Gospel, and an open call. (That's right—Pauline scholars are especially welcome.)
