I would be a bit careful on this one - the whole "it's a different Donald Trump" angle comes originated with NewsThump which is a spoof UK website, pushing this as if stated from a credible sources actually damage the democrat cause - everyone knows he was involved, but don't use fake stuff.
“Jeffrey Epstein was talking about a different Donald Trump” insists White House
The White House has today clarified that recently released Epstein emails alleging “Donald Trump knew about the girls” are “clearly referring to a different Donald Trump,” possibly a quiet accounta…

There are some fairly significant differences though from this simplification, in Taiwan and Ukraine, both leaders as far as we know were fairly elected in free and fair elections, Venezuela by contrast is widely known to have been neither free nor fair - this of course does not justify the attack.

He will probably declare it is a "Special Military Operation", then wait to see how Russia reacts.

Jackie Chan reminds me of the old TTRPG, Paranoia - he's just a commie traitor working for China.

Woody Allen being a creep didn't surprise me, it was his association with Steve Bannon that did, it was not a combo I expected. It's like Stalin and Hitler being in the same pic as friends, everyone knows their douches, but they proclaim to be different political douches.

Yeah - that bit surprised me, loads of photos of Steve Bannon with Woody Allen - what's up with that?

It is a shame that nuclear energy gets such a bad rep

I can understand why people might believe it but since yesterday they have found it was in fact sub-standard plastic covering and Styrofoam that are the culprits of the blaze and specifically not the bamboo; bamboo DID allow the flames to reach buildings acting as a bridge, but so would steel.
November 27, 2025 at 6:19 PM
Bamboo has a greater tensile strength than steel, is more environmentally friendly and has been used in both China and Hong Kong for decades. Taking this incident aside Hong Kong normally has a lower incidence of fire safety breaches than similar sized cities in the USA or Europe

It could be that this was some twisted revenge plot as Tyler Robinson was raised in a Mormon family, but that is just a guess, the shooters background suggests he was having life issues with a disabled son, but as always, nothing justifies murder.

Well, since the earlier exchange the Federal Reserve has stated they will look at supporting the Argentinian Peso, and even though they have not financially added anything, the sentiment has caused the Peso to rocket back - making it even more obvious that it is market sentiment driving this.
Argentina markets soar after US Treasury pledges support
Argentine financial assets rallied on Monday, with U.S.-traded stocks up over 10%, international dollar bonds up more than 6 cents and the peso strengthening after Washington said "all options are on the table" for the U.S. to support Argentina's government.

...that the Argentinian peso despite Milei stating he follows libertarian ideals is banded, not free floating which exposes Argentina to financial instability as if the peso goes too high or too low, speculators can take advantage of the banded width to force central banks to but or sell reserves.

I find all political figures do have a past and so to look for an "ideal" candidate is always going to be a fools errand, however, in this case I would suggest the two primary reasons are the aforementioned concern by markets that the Peronist may come back into power and continue their polices AND
September 23, 2025 at 12:35 PM
Dude, I've provided evidence? When they were last in power inflation was in triple-digits, so if it looks like Milei's influence is faltering and they are going to return to power of course the markets will be nervous; that's just common sense.
September 23, 2025 at 12:23 PM
I'm not sure how true this is, I thought the Peronists won the Beunos Aires local election in a surprise shock, that this in turn spooked the markets as under the Peronists inflation had reached 289% previously
