It's hard to express what a big deal this was the those of us who lived through the Cold War, especially the Cuban Missile crisis. Imagine thinking a piece of plywood on your desk would protect you from a thermonuclear blast. The Berlin Wall coming down was a big sigh of relief.
I wish it lasted.
