The senior managing editor for golf at The Athletic. In my spare time a hockey dad.
Kai Trump will be a college golfer.

But she's not ready for the LPGA tour.

Don't blame her. Blame those who are desperate enough for attention that they thought it was a good idea to invite the No. 461 junior golfer.

Kai Trump is not the solution to the LPGA’s problem
The No. 461 junior golfer in America was given a coveted sponsor exemption because of her last name and massive social media following.

What if the United States is just that bad at Ryder Cups, and all the give a damn we can muster will not matter?

Europe is just better at Ryder Cups. That’s not changing anytime soon
You do not win 6 of 8 and 9 of the last 12 without institutional advantages that your opponent will not or cannot match.

The Club at Lac La Belle.

Massive green complexes. Changing elevation. Generous fairways but still penalizes missed shots.

Just fun. All kinds of fun. And open to the public.

Pinehurst has announced the start of No. 11, an original Coore & Crenshaw design next to Tom Doak's No. 10 at what is becoming the Pinehurst Sandmines complex.

- Fall 2027 open
- Coore & Crenshaw restored No. 2
- Looks like a very different sight than No. 10, which is open with big views.

In an era of specialized sports phenoms honing in their craft just after preschool and turning pro right after getting their driver’s license, Ludvig Åberg represents a different kind of budding superstar.

Cabot Citrus Farms: Roost

While Karoo is big and wild, Roost feels more in front of you — but with atypical elevation changes for Florida. It also asks you different questions throughout the round, which I liked.

Excited to see how it grows in, matures.
