All work just fine. It's a Sunday timetable. But it blows my mind that I could hop on a train on Christmas day if I wanted to. Something I have done a couple of times in recent years.

I wonder if UK public transport will ever catch up.

I will regret this...

Congrats @shiz 🎉

Best of luck with the board membership, and I hope it's a little less drama than we've got over here 😅

A quick reminder that this year’s 25% off #interrail sale ends at 10am CET tomorrow.

You can buy directly from them at http://interrail.eu - and you get an extra 15€ off if you use code SJINTERRAIL.

However, if you want to hedge your bets, and want to use a […]

Many thanks to @kline for assistance installing the NS train display from #eth0 in rLab today (only taken me a month).

Unfortunately the RS485 adaptor has decided to die, so we've technically replaced the working TV with a broken display... Very on brand […]

If anyone is after an Ultimaker, the hackspace is selling a couple 🙂 This one works, the other is missing the bed.

Both sold for spares as we don't know the condition.

Ultimaker 2+ 3D Printer | eBay UK
Ultimaker 2+ 3D printer. Complete printer, turns on and has recently been printing. Power supply included. Sold as "spares or repairs" as we cannot guarantee the condition of the machine - it will probably require a new nozzle and some fettling. Bear in mind this machine has suffered almost 10 years of hackspace printing. All proceeds go to rLab - Reading's Hackspace.

every 3-4 years when they are cleaning it the authorities allow visitors into the #lodz waterworks.
They are pretty fussy about security (I guess rightly so) but they do allow pictures.

In traditional fashion, the UK is doing an excellent job of arguing about HS2 and failing to celebrate the extremely impressive and genuinely innovative engineering at a Huge Scale on the project 🚄

My source of inexpensive craft knives for the hackspace has dried up - AliExpress will no longer sell knives to the UK as they don't want to do age verification.

(In before anyone says they're cheap and nasty - yes, but so many get accidentally taken home, broken, lost etc.)

Who decided that cars without oil dipsticks were a good idea?

I've just had to buy a kit to install one in mine, as the electronic sensor is useless for servicing & the tiny 'last resort' one is made of brittle plastic (that's disintegrated).
