Oh, and #EuroCarParks have not written to me to say anything at all - they have simply marked the ticket on their site as paid or withdrawn.
Bloody cowboys indeed.

And then the next thing is that POPLA tell me that #EuroCarParks have "withdrawn the appeal" (which doesn't quite make sense, since I thought it was my appeal!).
Anyway, it means that EuroCarParks put all the pressure on me to pay, but then in the end they didn't have to...

And also the PCC tax is pretty much twice the size of the BC.
So if your worry is about your "Local taxes" (although mine isn't particularly), the PCC has been far more significant than the BC.
Am I misunderstanding my bills?

My specific question was about what the PCC tax changes have been since she started in what I now see is 2021.
They have been (going backwards) 5.4%, 6.3%, 7.0%, 7.0%, 5.0%

Glad I mentioned them.
I’m on an LTE in Kruger at the moment, so can’t easily engage.
It was Zuse that reminded me; I think he was one.
You could try interviewing Brian Randell about Zuse, he is very illuminating (and has several of his illuminations/paintings iirc always with a story)

As I suspect you know, a few decades ago, the Science Museum did a series of interviews with old CSish people, basically to catch them before they died. On cassettes.
But by the time I found out about it, they had to admit they hadn’t got the copyright properly, they weren’t selling them.

"I'm so smart I can tell you when and how it is useful to use ChatGPT" is far too hard, and doesn't have the kudos.

I had to argue very hard with my university to get such a field added to ours.
That really showed what the mindset was, as you suggest.

But over 70% this year is the County Council; so the local council could add 10% and it would be a 0.6% increase in the overall bill.
It would be good if they could, perhaps.
