Will put something witty/intelligent here later.
Followed by a selection being made and “you’re the one that want, ooh, the one that I want”.

More generally, when in front of the <calorific indulgences aisle>, “I’ve got guts, they’re multiplying, and I’m losing control”.

Interesting. Is the implication that over a long enough period, wind will become obsolete? Ie solar+battery will continue to develop and once fossil is displaced, wind will start to be displaced too? Or does wind work with, say, pumped hydro storage?

Brighton pavilion… oh.

Double spaces are a bug. It should be an em space after a sentence. But when monospace typewriters came along, they could only approximate an em space with a long double space. Now word processors have returned prop. fonts, the double space should be obsolete. It looks horrible with a prop font.

Won’t be long now until we see some thug spray painting “Stop the Oats” in red across the window of the local health food shop.

Yeah. One has to resist the temptation to collect one of each, and stop yourself thinking of justifications for getting some obscure bit of kit. You can spend ages on eBay looking for bargains, too. :D

Relatable. It’s the Apple of networking gear (meaning it’s designed really nicely so just holding it is fun. Possibly TMI).

Well done!

I suspect your Mum’s usage precedes the porn industry usage. Although the newer definition is now the generally accepted one.

There’s a world of difference between writing “professionally: deadlines, a subject that you might have lost interest in, targeting a specific audience, worrying about quality - hated that. Now I’ve stopped all that and just writing to get the idea pressure out of my brain is fun.

Will you be using/able to use it for cooling in the summer?

It’s so odd. It’s like they think your name is some kind of trap which they’ve been so, so cunning in spotting and avoiding.

Last year was the pandemic. The year before that was the one where everyone famous died and we had the brexit vote. The one before that was the sport one where we did the Olympics. Then it starts to get a bit sketchy.

Good report. But I just wish you used different terminology. An e-bike has a strict specification. These are illegal motor bikes, powered by an electric motor/battery. Maybe call them illegal e-motor bikes. We have created a perception that all e-bikes are dangerous.

I’ve googled now. Interesting.

DHSS still gets a lot of traction (precursor to the DSS, 1968 to 1988). I suspect because it features in music lyrics/album titles).

Someone was complaining on the local Facebook group a couple of days ago about “the gas board” digging up the road again.

“The SNP want to build their house out of Brick. The Conservatives want to build theirs out of wood. But only the Labour Party are committing to build ours out of straw” vibes.

Yes! Back in my day, the LEA would pay your expenses for visiting your top five Uni choices. I knew I wanted to go to London so only really needed to see two. So the others I just went as far as I could get from the south west. Bradford in Yorkshire, Colchester in Essex and Stirling in Scotland.

Still seems pretty current. I particularly note the guy that is "Trace Mountains" using it in the interview with the Culture mag to explain his music. He doesn't look like he fits the profile of a 1956 Army Colonel. Not sure what to make of the Gaza articles though. I daren't click in.
