It’s less chilling when you know how careful we are! We spent a whole day beforehand (and that was *quick* for burn prep) mowing and raking around fences, trees, any shrubs etc we didn’t want to catch. And we burned *so* slowly and controlled, 3.8 acres took us about 7 hours!

Honestly the third one in particular was twice as good in person! I got mad at my phone a lot for failing to capture how gorgeous so much of it was

If you don’t want to make 12 loaves at once, you could shred it and freeze it? My mom used to do that with zucchini, packed it flat in gallon freezer bags so they’d stack

Last year I started buying these compressed bricks of coconut coir from a local nursery-no peat and less shipping resources used! Not sure of the brand, but I’d check moderate-to-fancy nurseries, esp ones that have more high-maintenance plants. For ref the ones I got were like $9 per brick

Gosh I’m sure I miss stuff like that all the time, I’m real bad at birds! Tho I did recently learn that red tailed hawk calls are used for bald eagles all the time 😅

I keep thinking about 10 seconds in The Last of Us where they drive through an “overgrown” field, 20+ years unmowed, with NO weed trees in it…lmao 😂

Aaaauuugh iNat was saying drumfish but it never woulda occured to me that it was a teeth thing!! I was guessing the fish had some kinda parasite!
