I guess that we should have expected that Trump would consider disposable the place where the women married to Presidents worked. One can only hope the new ballroom will include slot machines paying out in Trump meme coins.

How much suffering would result from keeping the government closed until the mid-terms? Would it be worse than a Trump government fully funded?

Anyone who uses the word "woke" in the current media, whether in a positive or negative context, I immediately assume is an enemy.

Trump's net approval ratings in the consolidated 538 polling website went negative for the first time in his second term today. This afternoon the 538 website is off line, with news that ABC/Disney will be closing it permanently. Serendipity I guess.

Donald Trump approval rating goes negative for first time in presidency
The shift in approval happened faster for Trump than it did for his predecessor, former President Joe Biden.

Trump isn't against all DEI projects. The Hegseth hire is the latest example of a DEI hire for a class of incompetent, misogynist white drunks, who in a normal world wouldn't get an interview for serious job.

So great that our new president has delivered as promised peace in Ukraine and Gaza! On Day 1!

Of course, we need to keep in our thoughts our dear leader's wisdom "War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength."

President-elect Musk has so far arranged for a Christmas shutdown of the government, a collapse of the financial markets with a negative impact on our 401-ks and the reignition of inflation as our dominant economic concern. Can't wait for tariffs and the party to really start on January 20th!

I used to respect Maureen Dowd's perspective. Not any more... www.nytimes.com/2024/11/28/o... . Trump has enough paid propagandists in the media. The NYT doesn't need another in Dowd.

One day when a president, probably not a Republican, is able to deny the peaceful transfer of power, using the support of politicized generals, remember 2024, when a Republican Senate helped a convicted criminal run for president and a Republican Supreme Court gave him immunity for his crimes.

It's about 18 months from January 20th to the point at which positioning for the midterm elections shuts down any serious legislation in Congress. Unless the GOP is actually willing to set aside the Constitution for their dear leader, Trump is an elderly lame duck fading on the national stage.

Trump's nominees for AG and for DOD are both accused of sexual assault, in the case of the AG nominee, the alleged assault was with a child. Over 50% of the country has decided that a conviction of sexual assault is OK for a president. Now we know what "making America great again" actually means.
