Definitely some lower tier options out there. No real de facto closers, I’d argue. Fairbanks, Weaver, Rogers, Keller, Dominguez all good options but decent arms that could compete to be a closer. Disappointing nonetheless. Lots of off season left.

They’re just not a good team. Old and slow.

Any gut feeling towards them getting an impact bat or a SP? Hard to truly evaluate when you’re missing likely 5/9 of your ideal starting lineup.

No USHL kids plz. Maybe there’s some good ones at 28 but I wouldn’t feel great about it until they signed

I’m still in the “glass half full” camp, of Stanley Cup winners not completely shaking up their roster at the deadline. I don’t know if a Brock Nelson or anyone else would’ve fixed the breakdowns today/Thursday. I firmly believe that they are not out of this and will find a way to get it done.

I don’t mean to pile on the TDL because it’s in the past now, but after missing out on Nelson, should they have given a package for Laughton to top Toronto’s? If Vlad does miss time, he’d really be a solid bandaid in this case. I very much worry about their current depth. It’s unfortunate

This makes sense to me. They want an extra forward on their trip

Thanks Murat! Great read.
-Toews would be cool
-The idea that the Jets can accrue cap during the 4 nations break also makes me think Chevy will wait to make a move
-People who are angry at Stan need to put it on the coach. He is trying his best out there
-I hope Ehlers stays
-$9-$9.5ish for KFC

I wonder about trying to get Gus with Perfetti. Maybe not stapled to each other, but I remember them having chemistry with the Moose.

Not sure if the cap could work. Would likely need retention on Nelson or Dumoulin (or both). But Jets currently have ~$9.7 million on deadline cap space, so there’s definitely room to add. @wpgmurat.bsky.social on a scale of 1 to 10 how much am I dreaming and out to lunch 😂

I have a hard time believing Coghlan slips through waivers again (I assume he’ll be the first to go). He’s played well enough to be claimed.

That would be a large blow. Hope it’s not too serious.

Hope he clears, but I think the Oilers grab him
