10-27-25 By Bess On Sunday, an empty lot Canadians gone; now wasted pavement Still, pious vomitus persists LED lights swarm, puzzle, and buzz Blinding displays The same indoctrinated songs, almost subliminal, aloof Over gaudy green carpet, odorous tannins, and milling consumers Soaking in the fading sunlight, clock story told Crisp skies and crunching underfoot On borrowed time, the long way home Back roads, frost returns and melts. On Monday, billowing steam hangs in contrast against the sky Dry stalk color and chaff take flight Into leathery oak, red sumac and stubble Filled silo cities with nowhere to go; soybean excess Feed corn faucets pour grain waterfalls and sugar beet boulder walls Worthless crops and shortage; to fatten and kill At home, an electric bulb broadcasts heat Nuggets plump on crumbles and sun Bumble and sprawl on the cold ground in fragrant alehoof And heave strained breaths into a muffled wind Wood without a stove, water without a pump Gas in the line… While the memory of mills turn and blink in synchrony Against all that is to come.

Alpha alpha dipridyl shows reduced conditions in soil by changing color to pink. This was a fun soil to describe.
