Yesterday afternoon, @wearehub.bsky.social had a #GoByBike Week Celebration Station in #NorthVancouver (near Welch and 1st Street). They had some maps, snacks, and free bike tune-ups.

The next North Shore Celebration Station will be near the Ambleside Park entrance tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct 1st).

The hill up Windridge Drive is quite steep, but is quieter than the route along Mount Seymour Parkway.

I checked out the first part of the Spirit Trail East extension from Seymour River to Windridge Park last weekend. The trail mostly uses existing side streets: starting on Heritage Park Lane and continuing on Windridge Drive.

Pipeline Bridge, connecting Lynn Valley to the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, will be closed for repairs in August. The detour is upstream to the Lynn Headwaters bridge or downstream to the Suspension Bridge.

There will be roadside maintenance happening on the roads to Cypress Mountain (July 14/15) and Seymour Mountain (July 16/17) next week. For safety, cyclists on the roads may be stopped for up to 30 minutes.

The Marine Drive multi-use path construction is starting soon. This will close the off-ramp on the north end of the Lions Gate Bridge to bikes.

The recommended detour is to wrap around under the bridge, over to the rugby club and Lionsgate village.

An artist rendering shows a possible future route for the #SpiritTrail between St Davids Ave and Moodyville Park. Based on this, which I expect is only a concept, the Spirit Trail will be separated from Alder Street.

West 1st Street Bike Detour for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction.

The dedicated eastbound bike lane on West 1st Street between Philip and Pemberton Avenues will be removed in April 2025.

On Jan 27th , the District of #NorthVan passed a budget with a $5M funding cut for the Spirit Trail Eastern extension.

There is a council workshop on Spirit Trail route decisions Feb 10th, 7pm at DNV hall.

Other bike lanes, not so much. The shoulder bike lane on the Low Level Road looked unusable and the westbound section between St Andrews and St Georges was also uncleared.
