I just can't get over how beautiful the northern lights are tonight!! They have been going for 4 hours and are still so vibrant! And this is from our front porch, with no effort to control for light pollution, just using the night sight phone setting. Visible without that though too! 😍

Unfortunately, in the US we're seeing a growing lack of empathy. Our rugged individualism does not serve us well in a hypercapitalistic reality. When we turn away from the public good, many suffer. Devaluing others is a preliminary to harming them.

I took our son to the Iowa State Fair yesterday. He hadn't been before, and I figured every Iowan needs to experience it at least once in their life!

If you get a chance to see Video Games Live, take it! Our son and I went to the Cedar Rapids, IA show tonight and it was epic. It had @orchestraiowa.bsky.social and local college choir members performing and they did a fabulous job!

Ottawa Art Battle last night at the War Museum. All women painters to go along with the Outside the Lines: Women Arts & War exhibit. Not quite the same vibe as the usual venue, but still a good time. Always amazing to see what people paint in 20 minutes!
