September was another mid reading month but I'm currently in the middle of "Between the World and Me" by Ta-Nehisi Coates which is great so far, so I think October is gonna be a better reading month!

Honestly my biggest criteria was making sure it wasn't too difficult/long to write each symbol and I also wanted it to be fun for me personally! Considering I ""transcribed"" multiple songs with it (and now have the alphabet memorized) I'd say it was at least fun for me! 6/?

Then I added symbols for major ideas/concepts in their world and in general. Most of these aren't used, but it helped with world building

The greeting one specifically means any "hello" "hi" etc and would be used when writing to people your close with specifically 4/?
Markings for the months of the year as well as various key concepts in the world.

Obviously I started with the basics, and that was mostly the shapes I wanted to use. Since it was for a game for a 10 day jam. I pretty much stuck with lines, circles, and squares.

For punctuation, I drew from Spanish, so the marks for "?" and "!" are placed at the start and end of sentences 2/?

Reading month in August was a little everywhere I think lmaO

My fav of the month was The Backyard Bird Chronicles. I love when people love things and I love things that have a diary/journal feel, and this book was both!

This all started as a Call of Cthulhu 5E hack, and then it spiraled out of control LOL The game is centered around the way you change in the face of the horrors which surround you.

You can have the basis of the game as it stands currently, as a treat :>
Text reads: The Realities of the World The First Reality: You are changing by the will of something beyond you. This is the only reality you have. The setting, the situation, the time period, may all come to be altered, just like you. To live in this world, is to always be changing. What has caused the change and how you will change is a matter you need to investigate, before there is nothing left of who you used to be. The Second Reality: Humans are not the only things which walk the earth. Perhaps the horrors have always walked beside you, without you having ever been able to see them. Perhaps you find yourself slipping into other realms, where the horrors reside. Whatever the horrors are, they are here, and they hunger for you. The Third Reality: The Butterfly Effect is true. Each action you take will have consequences not just for you, but for the people around you. The group you find yourself in, trying to investigate these changes, are subjected to whatever fate your choices lead them to, as their choices will do the same to you. The Fourth Reality: Your chances of surviving this are grim. The odds are against you at every turn, and the more you try to live the more you must give in to the change happening around you. There is a chance that even if you live, your soul will die. Your sanity will vanish. You will be an empty shell of what once was. You will fail again and again, until your last dying breath or until the change overtakes you. The Final Reality: If everything in the world can change, so can fate. For as you are now, you still retain your will, and that is enough to come out of this alive. If you do not wish to fall, then struggle until the end. And remember, there is always a light burning, amongst the horrors of the world around you. Text reads: The Illusions of the World The First Illusion: You know what changed you, don't you? You came into contact with it, felt it wrap a first around your soul and forced this mark upon you. But the memory is slippery, and the image blurry. Perhaps it happened years ago, and now the memory is gone. Perhaps it felt as though a dream. You cannot grasp it, as much as you pretend you can. The Second Illusion: The horrors wish you dead. This is why they hunt you. This is why they haunt you. But if that was the case, why would they change you first? Is it Death they desire of you? Or is it something much more sinister? The Final Illusion: You can undo the change. This was not something you wanted. It was a curse bestowed upon you by those beyond your comprehension. As long as you keep searching for answers, you will find a way to return to who you used to be. But even if you do stop the change, even if you physically return to your old body, the experiences you lived are ones you will carry with you forever. No matter where your story ends, you will never be the person you once were.

Ok yeah, July was a much better reading month than June lol

Favorite was When The Wolf Comes Home. I went in mostly blind and wasn't expecting where any of it was going. Literally lost my mind at so many points even if it objectively isn't the weirdest horror out there, it was just well done
