The VKPP report on Domestic Homicides and Suspected Victim Suicides findings show that previous non-fatal strangulation was present in:
- 23% of victims that died by poisoning or drugs
- 21% of cases of death by hanging
- 14% of deaths by strangulation
- 8% of deaths by suffocation
