Society won’t magically change overnight from our protest methods. Change takes time. Do what you can, and take on a diversity of tactics. But we can’t chain ourselves to the inevitability of our oppression(s). The more we work to live the lives we’re meant to have, the more possible they become.

Even limiting spending at icky Target is helpful - it’s understandable if it’s the only place available to buy your basic needs! But limiting impulse buys - even l a pack of gum - could make a difference. I think the all-or-nothing mindset is a colonizer’s game we all need to evict from our minds.

Another response to the inability to grow your own food could be to question what precisely makes food soverienty out of reach for so many, working to destroy these systems rather than submit to them as inevitable. We shouldn’t chain ourselves to scarcity. Love, someone impacted by food insecurity!
