Here's what I see (using the iOS Bluesky app). No mention of an "elder" status.

The TI TMS9900 is one ginormous DIP chip! I've not yet encountered any other DIP (Dual Inline Package) IC chip as large as this one. I own a couple of TI99/4a computers, and have opened them, of course, to see what's inside.

Many years later, I bought several plastic DIP 1802's for a micro-controller project for a neighbor of ours who runs a succulent, bonsai & plant nursery. I programed it in machine language to act as the brains of a very-high-humidity electronic fog system sensor/switch. I called it "HygroElf". :-)

Here's my first RCA 1802 CPU (but not my last) & the Netronics ELF II kit it came with. The one shown above is from Hughes, the second-source, so it could be sold to NASA & other US government agencies.

Done as requested. One more like, because "now you are the master." :-)

Same, via the kit! Loved the elegant, easy to program RCA 1802 µ-processor. And yes, it did start out looking very much like yours, with the modest wooden wedge sides to begin with. Later expanded & encased in what was commonly called "IBM blue & black", because IBM mainframes had these colors.

Also, reposting a reply to another person's question regarding favorite video games:

"Space Ace"! I think I put more quarters / tokens into that game than any other (2nd place goes to Dragon's Lair II). Of course, I'm mostly revealing that I'm a big fan of Don Bluth animation. :-)

Tried to share my "Slo Motion with Fast-Food" slide-show animation GIF here, too. The preview looked ok, but as soon as I posted it, it was just a static PNG of the title card, the first frame only. Will need to do some more tests (maybe my GIF filesize was too big for Bluesky?)

Thank you for joining Bluesky! I still follow you on Twitter, and your Traditional Animation community there, but this is such a friendly site that I'm very happy to see you here, too.

I see it here on Bluesky.

Here is the SMART train as seen from Shollenberger Park next to the Petaluma River in northern California.

I've gone ahead and nipped those catnip sales in the bud."

North Bay Area in California, about an hour north of San Fran (by car, though I no longer drive -- I use my eBike, SMART train, BART, etc.)

"Where else?! Next to mama." :-)

Did the desk have vents / fans for that sunken Apple IIe? Looks like a great way to smother any flow-thru cooling.

That has "win!!" all over it, including the spherical monitor! (I've always loved the elegant Sinclair styling! First saw a ZX80, in person, at the West Coast Computer Faire.)

I like to compare + contrast the tesla cybertruck to this Bertone concept truck, designed by a genuine, skilled designer! Such an incredibly beautiful machine!!
November 16, 2024 at 5:49 PM
I still view it with curiosity (usually thinking "is it as flimsily built as some of the online videos suggest?") but brother!, is it aesthetically unappealing. It looks like a childhood ruler-drawing of a dream-truck, only missing retractable saw-blades up front & secret tack-dispenser in the back.
