After reading it now, I’m very curious if Felix grows enough in 2 years to “pull” Pettitte with him towards election. Next year seems key as Posey is the only big name. 2028 will have Pujols and Yadi (and Cano)

I love the flip rate table! Quick Q - it doesn’t account for the first-time ballots already revealed, right? So in theory beltran and jones have a bit extra cushion due to the great numbers among 1st years?

These Eldridge rumors to me smell like the Lincecum-for-Alex Rios one in 06-07ish. I don’t think there’s a trade I’d make where the other team would accept it too. Maybe Joe Ryan? Maybe…? But he’s off the table per the Twins. Healthy Hunter Greene for sure, but such a big “if”

Where does Pettitte rank there? He still had 10ish good years post-2000. I’m very surprised by Buehrle at 12. I guess the really long and solid career does that, but still didn’t expect it. I never saw him as close to Hamels, much less to Felix and Pettitte.

I view Pettitte/Felix as HoFers, then Buehrle/Hamels as HofVeryGoods, but either way, I think there are ways to split the 4. Then I’d vote for the top 1-3 if I found all 4 deserving of the HoF until it begins to clear up.

Maybe it’s a dumb question, but I’m curious. How do you know someone is a 1st time voter if they don’t share their ballot? Does the BBWAA disclose who new voters are or do they announce it individually?

That’s perfect! I love Iguazu falls. Both the Brazilian and Argentinian side are wonderful, and feel like 2 very different things to me. Glad you enjoyed it! Def worth spending 5-7 days in Rio another time! Hope you can make it

Not sure where to ask this… how’s this year’s number of ballots announced tracking compared to previous years? In other words, are we getting more, same, or less ballots being made available year over year? Do you guys keep track of that? Personally, I’m always curious about it
