The Winnipeg River in beautiful Pinawa, Manitoba, 🇨🇦. The displaced black bears (forest fires) from Lac du Bonnet ate all the acorns and other food sources to be had in Pinawa, left the area a month ago, and are now probably denning somewhere.

No food? Alas, dear Pileated Woodpecker, the grackles emptied the feeder! They, in turn, will feed other species; you know, the predator/prey thing! Being such a faithful visitor, I know I'll see you again soon! (via cell/window/Southdale/Wpg.)

Cell phone night shot. The roaming cat is back in front of the neighbor's porch. It gifted us with a rabbit's head last night. The body was found a few feet from where it is sitting. (photo evidence in my gallery). I'm wondering what tomorrow's surprise gift will be. #Southdale #survivalofthefitess
