As of 9 PM tonight, the Irrawaddy River's water level has reached 987 centimeters the danger mark for potential flooding. In June 2024, it exceeded 1,400 cm, causing severe floods across most low-lying areas of Myitkyina and the worst hardship for residents in recent memory.
