Dehaene shows studies in his book "How we learn" that link tons of learning loss to tablet and smartphone use in school already. Add AI to that and it's even worse 🙄 You don't need to "learn" tablet / smartphone use. UI is super easy. What you need to learn is to be wary of info from AI / Web.

Be patient, observe, relate to your pupils on a personal level.

It vibes with me so much. When I think of school today the key ingredient that is missing is it being meaningful for kids. Ok, we learn, but for what? How's that gonna help us or make the world better? And that's a big reason many kids are struggling there.

I'm based in Germany, and even basic biological pupil needs are ignored. Windows are shaded so the classroom becomes shadowy. Pupils have to wake up at 6am to be at school on time. Grading students for bureaucracy needs takes precedence over teaching. ...
