Her reason for starting her journey was a mix of a desire to leave her home country and to see more of the world. Adventuring was simply something she was good at that allowed her to travel.

She eventually moves on to Gridania to professionally train as an Archer and Lancer to fill any gaps of knowledge she had, and then decides to travel to Ul'dah to join the Pugilist Guild at 20, which is when ARR begins for her.
