Floodwalls are still protecting Mount Vernon as of 1:30 PM on December 18th. Just look at that sand deposited on the riverwalk during the flood! Never underestimate the power of water.

Visited this fine establishment briefly today and had a perfectly-made, ice-cold Redbull spritzer!

I miss the tea house, but from what I know and have heard from others, this is a pretty nice replacement.

The Union Block Bistro in Mount Vernon has some delicious food! The burrito with its tomato garnish is a bit camouflaged against the flowers on the plate, but if you look closely you can see it's a pretty good size. The fries were fresh and satisfying with savory sauce.

Jennifer Knapp is a Grammy-nominated musician, the first Christian music artist to openly advocate for queer rights and discuss queer identities, and has a master's degree in theology! And in two days, you can see her perform live at White Branches, right in downtown Mount Vernon!

Not gonna lie, this is the best damn jam I EVER did have.

I have no idea which local group or business made it, because I got it as a gift and there are no details on the label, but the flavors are remarkably rich. 10/10.
