I was shocked after seeing star trek v-ger, in 79, that the sequels weren't cancelled right then. I guess enough of us trekkies saw it to get the sequels going. The only time I re-watched 1 on TV was because my wife had never seen it. She made it through some of the movie. She likes 2,4,and 6.
