it’s refreshing to see a name that was on my ballot and I voted for to be passionate about educating folk and actively trying to make a difference, even outside of office.

I’m so tired of young men believing that the viewpoints shown by an algorithm designed to ignite outrage in the viewer are representative of the general consensus. Being upset that a “lib” on TikTok said to kill all men is not comparable to women’s rights being stripped away in the form of law.

This reminds me of the infinite money glitch trend that floated around. Essentially, it was advertised that writing yourself a bad check and withdrawing the partial amount before it bounced would result in free money. I think it initially was satire, but people replicated it not realizing it’s fraud

This is behavior we expect at this point. However, if we stop talking about it, it’ll become normalized.

Under no circumstances should we let any of this behavior become normalized.

It’s incredibly upsetting and there’s no excuse for this behavior other than cruelty. People will continue to justify these actions until it’s themselves or their loved ones on the chopping block.

Even if someone believes undocumented people should be deported, this situation should still be massively alarming. According to this article, www.ft.com/content/dbfa... some of these folks signed agreements to return to Venezuela. They agreed to comply and were completely blind sided in return.

Enshittification is happening instead of platforms being replaced.

I was in a liberal leaning Discord channel. People would post some sort of link to a news article or official correspondence from the White House. The most asked question by people was “what does this mean?”. Like what? Read the article? People are so used to not reading sources it scares me.

I’ve been using an RSS feed aggregator for my info recently. What’s nice about the RSS feed is I can also add YouTube channels to my feed. In one place, I can see content from all the people I’ve intentionally followed. Content that means something to me. Not stuff an algorithm thinks I’ll like.

Capitalism co-opting cyberpunk as an aesthetic stripped of meaning is really the most meta thing.
