San Diego’s Crystal Pier reopened to the public Monday after more than a year of repairs. The historic pier was closed in 2023 due to storm damage. The repairs took all of 2024.
The small hotel has more than 2 dozen cottages.

Nevada gaming revenue falls 2.2% in May, continuing 2025's slide.
Las Vegas Strip gaming revenue fell 3.8%.
However, the combined Las Vegas locals market - balance of Clark County, NLV & Boulder - was flat.
Reno had a 3% dip, but Sparks was up 11.8%

Large declines in May passenger volume at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas
- Overall total down 4% to just under 5 million passengers
- International passengers declined by almost 9%
- For the first five months of 2025, passenger volume is down almost 3.7%

Clark County Director of Aviation Rosemary Vassiliadis announces plans to retire in September. She was appointed director of Harry Reid International Airport in 2013.
The airport is in the process of planning a multi-billion-dollar expansion

Saw an old friend off in the distance yesterday: Sam Boyd Stadium. I covered many high school and @unlv.edu football games when it was known as the Silver Bowl.

Las Vegas visitation was down 5.1% in April - even with two nights of large Wrestlemania crowds - and is off 6.5% through the first four months of 2025.
Noting that the average daily hotel room rates were up 4.4% in April, even as hotel occupancy was down 1 percent.

Wynn Resorts has announced its withdrawal from the New York City casino process.
The company says the “rezoning process has made it clear to us there are uses for our capital more accretive to our shareholder.”
Las Vegas Sands withdrew from New York last month.

Nevada gaming revenue down 1% in March to $1.27B - not as steep as feared.
- Strip down 5%
- 3 markets had double-digit increases: downtown LV (11.6%), Boulder Strip (10%) & Reno (11%).
February ended on a Friday, sending weekend slot $$ into March

Wise move by Resorts World LV to name well-respected gaming attorney Jennifer Roberts as the property's Chief Compliance Officer.
She will oversee the property's regulatory compliance, registration and licensing, AML, responsible gaming & technical compliance.

In March, LAS saw a 4% decline in passenger volume to 4.8M. The airport is down 3.7% compared with the first three months of 2024.
International passengers declined by less than 1% with the largest declines associated with Canadian airline service.
