Maybe? I NEVER imagined values of that magnitude would support precip. But, yeah. Perhaps the pellet's fall velocity allowed it to fall thru the thick dry air cushion without evaporating like a flake or drop. Good point.

Nick, we had confirmed VERY light graupel/snow within a few air miles of KBGM with a dewpoint depression of 30°+ degrees this afternoon. Amazing.
