I’m not following the flow of your argument

Such logic would support Johnson’s “last word” on the proroguing of Parliament. No. It is not the court’s job to second guess what parliament might say today. It is its job to reflect on what parliament has already said without fear or favour

Disagree. Parliament did decide. The court reflected its view of the relevant Parliamentary legislation. That is its role. If Parliament wishes to change its mind it is free to do so. At that point the court will amend its judgements accordingly (assuming the law is not ambiguously drafted)

Almost my posted message - dead right. Use the power given by the election

Both sides of the political spectrum can bully as much as the other

BS doesn’t belong to The Left. Who wants to live in an echo chamber?
November 23, 2024 at 9:49 AM
And not everyone here is of the left, neither should they be. BS needs a plurality of views where participants learn to disagree agreeably. Else things get worse for the world if we can’t get social media to lose its divisive toxicity. More facts, objectivity, humility. Less ‘whataboutery’ and bile.

Please don’t repost pictures of DM front page. Their circulation is low compared to history. What you are doing is publishing and disseminating their poison headlines on their behalf
November 22, 2024 at 8:50 AM
Wow. Big of you. Accepted and appreciated. But we surely have to learn as a community to disagree agreeably or we are part of the problem. None of us are immune - including me

Go away - bored

Wrong. The guy/girl asked if it was a joke. They did not specify title/tag or article. I read the piece and my comment clearly referenced the article. Try to keep up with the detail with less focus on revelling in being an aggressive self righteous utopian
November 21, 2024 at 8:42 PM
Hmm. My “behaviour”, “misrepresenting”. The article was about world leaders’ view of Starmer being the one stable politician of the centre left. I said nothing about my beliefs, nor did I behave badly. The article expounds a view from 3rd parties - prob accurately. Glad you are nowhere near power.

Where is the money to come from ? Take it from the NHS ? If you believe the story that the last govt’s management of fiscal policy (+Ukraine/Covid to be fair), you recognise that money is tight. This feels like pragmatic progress. A compromise yes - that’s politics for you. It’s not utopia

It seems to me the biggest mistake has been Biden (and some EU) tying themselves in knots over a clear definition/narrative of self defence (ie kicking out an invader). Because of this, these actions look and feel like escalation when in fact that could have been avoided early on
November 21, 2024 at 12:07 AM
Your post would read better if you could include the prefix “I believe that”. Let’s not poison the BS well just yet. Twitter does the toxic thing
November 20, 2024 at 11:58 PM
Which of course it has been. But do continue to point me to evidence of these various Starmer utterances. But please don’t continue the discussion with any conjecture
