Yeah I said all that stuff because my wife used to suffer badly with migraine, so I was commiserating.

Sumitriptan became available in 1993. Before that, migraine sufferers were often looked on as being drug seekers. Before that it took morphine or Dilaudid to make a dent in the pain.
I'm in a pain clinic myself, and I think I know what you're going through.

Robert Heinlein, in one of his stories, had an astronaut in that predicament. He got out of it by taking off his undies and throwing them in the opposite direction from where he needed to go.
If you've watched any video of free fall, you'll see it's hard to get something to stay in one position.

In the bad old days, my wife's migraines had us at the emergency room about every third month. Once sumitriptan became available, she was able to endure it without having to resort to the emergency room.
One physician suggested that she take sumitriptan regularly to avoid major migraine episodes.
