When billionaires and multi-millionaires start moaning on TV about rent control, you know rent control is a good thing for hard-working people.

Interestingly, YIMBYs moan the same line as the billionaires and multi-millionaires. That's says a whole bunch, too.

Today, we held a press conference in Downtown LA, urging Gov. @gavinnewsom.bsky.social to backfill funding for SNAP benefits so people don't go hungry during the government shutdown.

People will be forced to choose between paying the rent or buying food. It isn't right. Newsom must help.

The California Apartment Association is the funded by many of the largest corporate landlords in the U.S.

And Beacon Economics routinely banks huge checks from Big Real Estate.

Neither the CAA nor Beacon Economics can be trusted. Period.

We participated in a great renters reception in Salinas over the weekend.

Salinas activists and tenants have placed a pro-rent control measure on the 2026 ballot, and it was great to see the enthusiasm for it.

They need your support!

We had a great panel on housing solutions at the Left Coast Forum on Saturday.

There were great insights from tenant and homeless advocates Mary Cellini, Ericka Lesley, Mike Soloff, Carlos Marroquin, and Mike Wellman.

Thanks to everyone!

“I think this (RealPage) lawsuit is a good stopgap, but we need a huge overhaul for tenants to actually have rights in this country."

Absolutely! www.rgj.com/story/news/2...

We urge Providence Mayor Brett Smiley to reconsider his position on rent stabilization.

There are plenty of studies that show rent stabilization will bring urgent relief to tenants and that Big Real Estate's anti-rent regulations arguments are outdated and wrong. www.wpri.com/target-12/ho...

Yesterday, we went to LA City Hall, demanding that the LA DWP give more power to the Barclay Hotel so we can provide 94 units of low-income housing.

LA is facing a homelessness crisis, but the DWP refuses to act.

Ask your City Council member to tell the DWP to give the Barclay more power.

We need more power at the Barclay Hotel so we can urgently give people housing in 94 low-income units.

But the LA DWP refuses to act as people die homeless in the streets.

The DWP must bring more power to the people!

The LA DWP must bring more power to the Barclay Hotel so we can use 94 units for affordable & homeless housing.

We're at LA City Hall asking for help.

It's a disgrace that the DWP refuses to take urgent action during the homelessness crisis.

Super excited for activists and tenants in Massachusetts!

Only rent regulations will rein in sky-high rents charged by predatory landlords. www.heraldnews.com/story/news/p...

Disgraceful.

It's great to see the city of Santa Monica take action and hold the landlord to account. smmirror.com/2025/09/sant...

From New Jersey to California, predatory landlords must be reined in with rent regulations.

Without them, people are forced out of their homes or have to decide between buying food or paying the rent. www.app.com/story/money/...
