If Tulsa is going to meet its housing goals we need to be rethinking how we use our available residential land.

At Housing Forward, we believe data is our ally in evaluating existing housing infrastructure in order to inform best practices in city planning and policy improvements.

According to @okpolicy.bsky.social, only 4% of Oklahoma City’s residential land is zoned for multi-family housing, yet census data shows more and more that our communities need smaller-scale housing options.

Great progress out of Texas this week where SB2835 passed, allowing for six-story single-stair apartment buildings.

Increasing desirable housing opportunities to young families, seniors, students and more while keeping development costs low and safety standards high is a win for our communities.
