It’s just halfway house politics. If you’re going to do left wing policies, go the whole hog. If they are trying to mimic a Nordic Social Democratic model, that ship has sailed as the bilious Murdochian and Marshallant Media have already sucked their teeth in to that part of the electorate.

That doesn’t mean they should have leaked the whole thing.

Boris Johnson was born in New York. Pakistan was part of the British Empire until 1947. America seceded from Britain in 1776. By this logic, Nus Ghani is by far more British than Boris Johnson. Would Lucy White say Boris Johnson was not British? If not, it’s a double standard.

Looks like they’re going to town, high budget gala, the works! In all seriousness though, are they not allowed to be happy?
November 18, 2025 at 11:29 PM
Just listen to what you want! If it makes you happy, that’s all that matters!

The new Lily Allen album is a prime example of this.

Chris, from a Labour voter and former member, this really doesn’t endear me to Labour. You provide zero context as to why Reform and Lib Dem MPs would vote against such a bill given their polar opposite opinions on other issues. This in fact means your method of ending 0-hours was hated universally.

He’s already off the sovereign grant, but he’s apparently moving to Sandringham now, so he’s still living in luxury.

I think unfortunately cheese is too interesting. I would say cardboard. It’s been raining for a while and he’s gone soggy and slimy, and is entirely ineffective for his original purpose.

Why I have only seen this now is anyone’s guess. My website is www.house-of-lord.co.uk. It’s a bit of a mad house in there but there’s lots of art, games and more to sink your teeth into!

The writing’s been on the wall for McSweeney for me since the winter fuel debacle, and Starmer didn’t sack him them so I don’t see a lot of hope in him going there now. I just loathe the stasis of decision making after 14 years in opposition. What did you campaign on? Change. Shout about that change
October 26, 2025 at 9:26 AM
McSweeney Todd needs to go from the post of Downing Street Chief of Staff. McSweeney’s explicit link to anti-Corbyn policies, policies which were actually popular (the man wasn’t), means the party is inevitably doomed to spiral into electoral oblivion as was seen in Caerphilly.

It’s people like Bret who shift the Overton Window forever right wards in the States. Being a climate change sceptic, supporter of Israeli occupation and yet opponent of Trump and other right wing populists means that the left get saddled with eminently beatable candidates out of appeasement’s sake

There are choices of Jewish journalists. They are not unanimous in their opinions and citing a single point as the doctrine on Semitic belief could in itself be described as antisemitic, because you are saying if you don’t think like this, you’re not Jewish. Congrats on your prejudice.

One can educate themselves about it. I do not have to be a car to know about how to repair that car when it’s broken. In the same way, I do not have to be Jewish to understand the antisemitism and anti-Zionism that has been prevalent for centuries, but this isn’t antisemitic or anti-Zionist.

Precisely

I do care about the answer but fear you cannot answer it in the way you would want, hence your refusal to answer. Quoting Melanie Phillips, someone who has equated antizionism and antisemitism doesn't seek to help your case.

Okay, this from 2023. Tell me this Schmucko, why would Israel fund terrorists trying to kill them: www.timesofisrael.com/for-years-ne...
For years, Netanyahu propped up Hamas. Now it's blown up in our faces | The Times of Israel

Well quite. It seems like there is a selective history with regards geographical boundaries.
October 3, 2025 at 12:26 PM
here, and I am coming at this from a perspective where I have considered both sides. I truly believe what happened in Manchester and on October 7th is horrific but logically speaking those killed by Israel in Gaza are not all responsible and the mission of Netanyahu has been a strategic failure.
October 3, 2025 at 1:53 AM
There is an alternative way to look at it Schmucko. Is it rewarding, when it is what was rightfully there’s before 1948? There is a precedence of it belonging to the Jewish people 2000 years ago, but territories change and the boundaries of Israel were internationally agreed in 1949. Israel reneged
October 3, 2025 at 1:53 AM
Schmucko, I’m a left wing supporter and Labour voter. I don’t support this but equally don’t support the violence perpetrated by either side for political gain. Factionalism hurts every side. We need to recognise the right for both Palestine and Israel to exist under the Balfour declaration.
