i also love the detail that fukuzawa's flashbacks are the only parts that aren't monochrome . cause like he's well adjusted enough to society that he doesn't really have an issue with feeling so completely out of place as ranpo did

the entire thing being monochome up until the point where ranpo gets his glasses and suddenly everything is powerful is a really good allusion to finally knowing what's wrong with you after living your whole life struggling to keep up with the world in general methinks . ough
