That’s what I was thinking. When I’ve done mushrooms, the end result was often snuggling with my dogs and being teary eyed with immense love and empathy for the whole universe. I guess that’s not a universal experience.

Loathsome as the man is, I don’t feel too strongly about his use of psychedelics. They can help with other addictions, which is probably why he uses them.

Dummy that I am, I bought a Tesla back 21 and those electric door handles haunted me to the point that I kept a window smasher in the car in plain sight. Was so glad to trade in that death trap.

As someone who has lived in Texas for the better part of 20 years, I can’t think of what they’re NOT sacrificing in the move. For a working/middle class person, the lower cost of living is real and an immediate benefit, but for a billionaire? It’s all loss and no gain.

The irony being their dictatorship is at least nakedly kleptocratic. If you don’t get in the way of their elite making money, they’ll at least leave you alone. Here the regime wants the kleptocracy but also won’t leave us be.

If I had Aladdin’s lamp and was restricted to this topic, I’d wish for an end to the electoral college, designating Election Day as a national holiday, and voting as requirement (like jury duty).
